Sustainable construction practices
We are committed to the environment.
As a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified builder, we take our expertise into the private sector to assist clients in creating sustainable and cost-effective buildings.
LEED is a program overseen by the Canadian Green Building Council that is primarily used in government institutional projects. It employs a rating and points system that rewards both design and on-site construction processes that meet the highest level of environmental sustainability, which limits our footprint on the environment.
Some of our other environmentally friendly practices include sorting our construction waste and recycling wherever possible.
Health and safety
Safety is not a once-in-a-while thing. It is a way of life.
OML Construction is committed to maintaining the highest standards of occupational health and safety in all areas of our construction activities. As a fully COR certified company, we are proud to be a member of the Alberta Construction Safety Association, and our comprehensive safety program meets and exceeds current standards set by the industry. Our employees are our most valuable asset, and we remain dedicated to their health and well-being.
Quality control
Plan + problem-solve + learn = High-quality projects
Plan: OML systematically develops project-specific quality plans that meet industry standards and incorporate client needs and expectations.
Problem-solve: Every project has its unique challenges, and although we plan for them in the pre-construction phase, our cross-functional team members are experienced problem solvers who find the right answer, on the ground, when it’s needed.
Learn: We continually learn from challenges, clients, consultants, and our trades to refine our processes and procedures on an ongoing basis. These experiences make us smarter so we can build smarter.
Customer focus
Communicative + accountable + innovative. We work with you rather than for you.
We take the time to learn about each one of our clients and how our approach to construction can add value to their project. We ensure we are in constant communication, we don’t let things slide, and we’re always looking for smarter ways to do business.
Community minded
Buildings don’t stand alone—they’re surrounded by community.
OML is currently a proud supporter of:
- Youth Empowerment Support Services (YESS), a non-profit organization dedicated to shaping the future of Edmonton by providing youth facing difficult realities with shelter, safety, support, and hope
- A Sign of Hope Society, a non-profit organization responsible for the fundraising and community relationship endeavours of Catholic charities and Catholic Social Services
